Oh I wish I had a photo of every dress worn in Designing Woman starring the beautiful Lauren Bacall and the very handsome Gregory Peck. The costume designer was Helen Rose and her designs are superb. Lauren Bacall must have been a joy to work with as she had such an amazing model's figure. I recommend seeing the movie if only for the clothes and actors. Also some great interiors.
Thrilled to see the new Wittner campaign shots as the 2 gorgeous black vintage 50s dresses are from my website vintageclothing.com.au It's such a treat to see women looking so fabulous in these timeless vintage dresses with modern accessories.
What a fabulous look at original fashions from Biba in 1969. There is a wonderful tapestry-look full length coat featured about halfway through. The same one in a shorter version is for sale at shrimptoncouture.blogspot.com I am lusting after the brown velvet high-waisted pants with lots of buttons worn with the coat.
I was thrilled to receive a photo of a dress that I recently sold worn to a vintage inspired afternoon tea to celebrate the digital presentation of the first 50 years of the iconic Women's Weekly magazine at the National Library of Australia in Canberra. In the top photo, Dale Forrest, centre, is the lovely woman who bought this rare, never-worn vintage 50s dress from vintageclothing.com.au. It suits her beautifully. The library are making all these copies available for viewing online. They only have 484 to find. What a great effort when you consider it was published weekly until 1982 when it went monthy so keep your eyes open please.
